Hi! Your work has passed selection in competitive program International Fest of Contemporary Animation and Media-Art LINOLEUM. We congratulate you! You can see your name on our site: www.linoleumfestival.ru festival/participants10. We wish success!
It's a drug fueled cartoon. Starting off with a couple of characters Called Spliff & Knifey Brownie. Then we move on to a Muppet style live show where Ralph Scott spins his coke & maryjane adventure to the special guest: Kevin Smith.
Ralph was always my favorite muppet as a kid.
Look for a special muppet like cameo from 2 of the fellas from Tell em' Steve-Dave
What is up people. I have a hankering to help sick people laugh. Why you ask? Well, recently I was super sick & on some antibiotics. It was the worst. At one point I had to call 911 cause I thought I was on the way out. Never had to do that before. Don't want to do that again really either.
When sick you have terrible dreams and pretty terrible awakened times as well. I couldn't even watch anything dramatic. The only thing that helped me feel a little better was watching a whole bunch of comedy.
So I would like to help sick people get some yuks instead of yaks. Or maybe yuks inbetween the yaks. I have no idea how I can achieve this, but I'm putting it out there to you internet. Maybe I'll figure a way of doing this or maybe something is already in place that I can take part in.
Just wanted to put the word out there.
If you have any ideas on the subject or you are a funny fawker who thinks this is a good idea, throw me an email at steve@starktoons.com
The new SModimation Avatarded is up now. Wooooo! Check it out!
Huge thanks to Kevin Smith, Scott Mosier and Ken Plume! I'd never thought in a million years I'd have something playing at Comic-Con. Super cool
I wouldn't of been able to get it done in time for Comic-Con without my friends that helped me out. Thanks friends. You saved the day. (That's them below under clean up and lipsync)
I thought I'd throw in a little behind the scenes drawing. There I am cleaning up a rough drawing. It was one of my favorite drawings of the toon. It's the antic before he starts coughing.
What is up! I will screening some of my cartoons at the anti-serious animation party.
Fun fun. It will be my last hurrah here in Vancouver as I am moving to Toronto in September. Also fun! Will I stay in Toronto long? Probably not, I'll be closer to my beloved NY and I'll actually get to see the eastern provinces of Canada.
Sweet deal. So come on down and check out a bunch of animation.
How's about a Canadian themed SModimation on this day of days?
As Kevin says:
This episode stars "Gordo - the righteously indignant Canadian" from the SModcast episode 57: Terrorist Pizza.
In my own head Gordo & Smitty from SModimation #1 are brothers. I would love to see that family at a Christmas dinner. They'd be constantly yelling and snapping at each other & bonding as a family agreeing how everything happening in the world is hog shit. Plus! Let's not forget Smitty's compulsion for prostitutes with crotchless panties! That's just a recipe for entertainment.
Look at this kickass souvenir! Ming Chen just beat the hell outta Santa Claus for the #1 spot at giving awesome gifts. I never thought anything I've drawn would end up on a puck. I feel so Canadian. Thanks Ming!
Also,
While looking through sketch books for some character designs I did a while back I came across the original Aquaman & Smosier Fish drawings. Fun!
Howdy doody partners! A Moment in History will be playing at this years ABP. I went to ABP in 2008 for Turducken's premiere. It was sooo much fun. It's where I met some NY friends and just plain fell in love with Lady Liberty. With her sexy green dress, her big ol' toes, her torch and that big crown thingy.
I'm gonna live in that city someday...oh yes....maybe the giant green ball & chain and I will get an apartment together. Those will be the days. I can't promise I wont cheat on her with other statues...but I can sure pretend to.
Anyhoo, If you are in NY check it out. ABP is always a good time. Plus, free beer! Not even Gandhi could say no to that! Check it!
Check out the SModimations in their natural habitat. Feeding, grooming, occasionally mating with a fleshlight at SModcast.com.
Just remember that you are in their home so don't look them directly in the eyes and don't even look at their fleshlights.
The page looks awesome and I love being named "The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang" of podcasts.
Cause in real life I might be able to kick start a jukebox, but I'd trip on the cord on the way out of the room trying to strut and land face first.....Then I'm just fucking Potsie
Go check out the new SModcast. Where the awesome Kevin Smith & Scott Mosier chat about the new sponser of SMod.
I listened to it on Sunday and couldn't sleep. Cause they talk about me. I don't think anyone could sleep after having a couple of their heroes say your name on a show that you love.
Like I said in the post when I got the first shout out, It's like Harry Potter mid movie just stopping and commenting on how sweet my haircut is and how my jeans are pretty cool & me being like....Harry was talking about me! Did you all see that?!
I'm super proud & excited to be doing the cartoons and super glad for the sponser (the Fleshlight- The #1 selling male sex toy in the world) that throws the salary my way.
The money is an awesome bonus, but it's pay enough that Kevin & Scott & the youtube commenters liked my cartoons.
If you aren't checking out SModcast or you haven't checked it for a while take a look!
It's turning into a Smod network with weekly shows>>
4 years ago I made a 5 year goal to get my own series. I made it early! Woooohooooo!!! As you can see above, I've been hired to do monthly SModcast cartoons.
My mind was totally blown when I got the first message and phone call about it.
When I made the first FLS, I was feeling uninspired and just wanted to do a cartoon for fun. Sometimes working on your own stuff can leave you with "Are they even going to like it?" or "What's the point?". When you finish it, you know that you love it and you just send it out there and see how people respond. I had no idea that FLS would ever get me a plug on SModcast or anything that's come.
I thought it might get a few more views but other than that just thought it would be this little thing I did because I love SModcast.
Being Uninspired rules! I encourage the hell out of it. Go out there and get down on yourself today! It'll get you somewhere!
I'm just so glad that Kevin & Scott & everyone liked the 2 FLS cartoons. You guys rock! Can't wait to see how you like the new SMod-toons!
It's a celebration!! I've been doing cartwheels and retarded victory dancing like this for at least a month in my apartment. I do cartwheels to get groceries, I scream & Woo! on the bus and I push strangers to the ground and toss rock candy in their eyes. "HAVE SOME CANDY!" I say. (toss) "THIS IS A GOOD THING!" (toss, toss,) "I'M SO HAPPY!!" (toss, toss, toss)
(That's me on the right...I've grown so old that I've turned into an old lady. It happens..)
I was going to hold off on uploading this new toon so I could submit to some festivals....Alas, I am short on funds. Plus I was thinking the other day (never tried it before!) and realized that the internet gives. All because of the internet I've won a super awesome cintiq and got a super awesome shout-out from Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier.
Bless you internet. Bless you right in the face...
Thanks for everything!
Now, Step back in time & check out a cartoon based on a joke by my old buddy Steve Kan-Hai & myself. (Not unlike Goat Away!)
"Before you kids had your fancy cars and your pogo sticks we had horses. When those horses were cold, we had to start em' up like any of your fancy cars of today Consarnit!"
Or if you are like "Fuck your podcast you jackass! I just want the FLS cartoons". I say...fair enough...little harsh. So while I'm crying myself to sleep you can download those 2 right now >>
From now on I swear to keep it up to date and put all my new cartoons up there. Or you can have my first born child. Seriously, take it...(I fear having children for at least 5 more years.)
